EHEM People

Rhythm section

Olaf Schjelderup (bass)

Olaf is one of the founders of EHEM (1987) and does EHEM's basslines with his trusty old Music Man Sting Ray Bass. He shares the tour manager’s fascination for vintage cars, outdated sound equipment and runs a recording studio. Born in Sortland, Olaf now lives in Trondheim.

Herold Myrland (guitars)

Herold is also one of the founders of EHEM (1987) and is in charge of booking and tour planning. He is a true multitasker and is able to go without sleep for weeks. Herold, originally from Bardu, lives in Narvik, Norway.

Anders Øgsnes (guitars, harmonica, vocals)

Anders is a member of the original EHEM crew (1987), since when he has introduced the band members to hundreds of secret jazz chords. Anders lives in Narvik, Norway.

Roy Stenersen (guitars, vocals)

Roy has played in EHEM since the very beginning. He is also touring Norway with other bands, such as Banana Airlines, K.M. Myrland & Vante Folk. Roy is born in Sortland and now lives in Tromsø, Norway.

Olle Nyberg (Hammond organ, piano)
Olle joined EHEM in 2008 and has worked with artists like Ulf Lundell, Bjørn Afzelius, Waterboys, Dr. Hook and DeLillos. After having lived in Gothenburg, Copenhagen and Paris, Olle finally settled down in Mora, Sweden, where he also runs a recording studio and works as a producer.

Terje Grande (Hammond organ, keyboards)
Terje has been on temporary leave for a while, but is back in EHEM's rhythm section from 2011. The king of Hammond B3 lives in Namsos, Norway. He plays and has played with artists such as Åge Aleksandersen & Sambandet, DDE and Thomas Brøndbo.

Odd Gunnar Moe (drums)

Odd Gunnar aka Gjerne has been playing the drums in EHEM since the beginning in 1987. His nick name comes from the famous Norwegian Christmas carol ”og julegrøten vil han gjerne ha…”. Odd Gunnar lives in Mo i Rana, Norway, where he also plays drums in the prog rock band Waterline.

Vocals

Janne Hemmingsen (vocals)

Janne joined EHEM in 1993. She is known to happily burst out in song any time, at any place. Janne also performs with the cover band Charcoal and the vocal emsemble Asker Bel Canto. She is born in Balsfjord, but now lives in Asker, Norway.

Hilde Holte Eriksen (vocals)

Hilde joined EHEM as a stand-in (2003) and has not missed a tour since. She often embarrasses the band with her ad hoc performances in hotel piano bars along the tour route. Hilde made her first public appearance in her hometown Grimstad in 1973. She lives in Oslo, Norway.

Jan Arild Sørnes (lead vocals)
- on temporary leave -

Horn section

Richard Arntzen (saxophones)

Richard has played with EHEM since the early nineties. Richard makes most of the EHEM horn arrangements, as well as being the band’s sheet music professor. He is born in Trondheim and now lives in Oslo, Norway.

Maria K. Strand (baritone saxophone)

Maria joined EHEM in 2008 as the first female member of the horn section. She constantly tries to force her mates to dance on stage, shouting ”moves, guys, moves” throughout the entire concert. Maria lives in Sandvika, Norway and grew up in Haramsøy at Sunnmøre.

Kjetil Vedholm (trumpet)
Kjetil first joined the band on the "Megaphone Tour" in 1992 and has been in shock ever since. The man with the unpronouncable Norwegian name is currently residing in Gothenburg, Sweden. Born and raised in a beautiful small town, yet a narrow-minded shithole on the west coast of Norway.

Morten Brochs (trumpet)

Morten joined EHEM in 2008 as a full-time member, but has played with the band on previous occasions. He also plays the bass in other bands in Narvik, Norway, where he lives.

Eskil Skoglund (trumpet)

Eskil first played with EHEM at the "Smuget tour" in 2000 and continued until 2008 when his youngest child was born. From 2011, Eskil is back in the EHEM business, bringing his trumpet and his smiling face to strengthen the band when required. Living in Trondheim, Norway, Eskil also plays in several other bands.

Tor Haakon Bakken (trombone)

Tor Haakon has been on short term leave, but is back in EHEM's horn section in 2011. He first played with the band during the mid nineties. Born in Sarpsborg (close to the Swedish border), Tor Haakon now lives in Oslo,  where he is a prominent member of the band Bakoversveis.

Torbjørn Ingvaldsen (trombone)

Torbjørn has played with EHEM on many occasions before he joined the band on a fixed basis in 2008. He is from Sortland, but lives in Tromsø, Norway.

Management

Roger Edvardsen (tour manager)
